[wplug] "Video issue" with Linux Mint

I'm heading out to Grove City later this week so that a gun instructor can
help me work on my rifle. Not one to take something for nothing, I offered
to help him with any computer trouble he's having. Well, it just so happens
that he's having trouble putting Linux Mint on a pair of "old Dells." He
says that there's some sort of video issue with them where the graphics
won't display properly.

Anybody have experience with this problem? I'm going to start reading up on
it later today, but I'd appreciate any tips.
