SCSI Controllers are generally a lot less interrupt intenseive.

SCSI drives tend to have faster RPMs, bigger caches.  SCSI drives tend
to have longer warranties.  SCSI busses are more manageable; SCSI buses
have faster throughput.

SATA blurs all of these distinctions, though.
