[wplug] phplot problems

Sometime in March John M. Rocker assaulted the keyboard and produced:

| Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in
| /var/www/html/phplot/phplot-4.4.6/examples/test_setup.php on line 29

i don't use php, but when i get errors like this (call to undef func) in
other languages it normally means: i forgot to include the library for that
function, i don't have the library installed, etc. so for php i would
assume php wasn't compiled with some image library present, or it wasn't
explicitly included. at least that's what i think.
