Networking on vmware has been pretty solid for a while now, the price
tag is up to 329$ a copy though.  At one point I do believe it was as
low as 99$ for a student.

vmware 4 has some nice features geared mainly towards application
testing such as snapshotting operating systems in time (ghosting).

It's pretty nice, I have not tried win4lin yet though.
