I upgraded my laptop from 8 to 9 yesterday and had almost no problems.  I 
needed to reconfigure X but that was it.  X looks a lot cleaner.. fonts 
are sharper.  There's now a wifi link monitor applet for the gnome panel 
which is nice.. other than that, I don't see a lot of big changes.
