[wplug] The Great Mac Giveaway

Thanks for this thread.  Our Apple team worked with Mark Dalrymple and Vance K and other WPLUG folks back in 2010 at one of the installfests ...trying to get earlier G3 macs to run Linux with not much success.  I would like to see what happens with your installs.  We opted to just stick with OS X 10.4.11 Tiger on G3, G4 and G5 Macs ... very reliable OS.

For Intel based Macs we standardized on 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, also very stable and reliable.

When possible we use 10.9.5 Mavericks on iMacs.  But in donation channels any computers that will run a OS that new are still held by the public.

I'l be away this weekend, unfortunately, but will swing by Monday to talk with Justin.
