*IF* you want to _prevent_ udev, dbus, hotplug, et. al. from
"controlling" a device, put the device in a line /etc/fstab. If these
components see the device in /etc/fstab, then they don't auto-manage
them.

BTW, if you do this, still abide by "A" -- do _not_ mount in /media,
use /mnt.  /media is reserved for these automagical components.
