Perhaps you might consider ReiserFS. It's journalled, so it won't kill
your volume after an unplanned shutdown. It's also quite fast, and I
believe that it's been the default SuSE filesystem for a few years
(although I don't use SuSE myself).

ACL support was added by SuSE, but you might have to patch the kernel to
get it.
