[wplug] FC3 Ctrl+Alt+Bksp to kill X

Just wondering about this. (using FC3)
If the inittab default runlevel is set to 5, Ctrl+Alt+Bksp kills X, but 
then leaves me with a black screen.
Is there a way to make the key combo work (i.e. kill X *and* leave you 
at a functional console) if you're using inittab to log in at runlevel 
5? I've only gotten it to work by setting inittab default runlevel to 3, 
then issue startx after text mode/console log in.
