Thanks for the correction, unfortunitly I am at a client that has very little access to *NIX machines so I cannot always test my commands.

Unforuntately, this won't work if your shell interprets the asterisk
as a glob before the command is executed. You need to escape the
asterisk too:
find . -name .foo\*
--
