[wplug] relevance of C for Apps

I know that this reply doesn't pertain to web apps or anything like
that, but a credible source informed me a while ago that a great deal of
the software/algorithms for some of the most advanced autonomous robotic
agents were/are written in C. Time and efficiency were key, with limited
resources. I'm not saying C is better than C++ or Java, or any other
language in this regard, just that when I asked what language(s) where
used, 'C' was the given answer.
