Sometime in June Wise, Jeremey assaulted the keyboard and produced:
| 2)I have to run seveal applcation functions as root and so find that I
| am constantly running this set of steps to setup a "root" shell console.

| wisej at wizej:~> xhost +localhost
| localhost being added to access control list
| wisej at wizej:~> su -

| wizej:~ # DISPLAY=:0.0
| wizej:~ # export DISPLAY

| This is on a typical SuSE 9.0 install. I have gotten around some of this
| in adding a ~/.bashrc for each user. What again is the "proper" way to
| do this?
There are probably many ways to do this, one method is instead of using 'su
-' just use 'ssh -X root at localhost'. you can alias this to:
alias mysu='ssh -X root at localhost'

What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans,
