Yellow Dog Linux has been providing a PPC Linux distro for quite a few 
years now -- I would imagine theirs is the most robust and easiest to 
install.

Mandrake also has a PPC version you could try out.

And if you're feeling experimental, Gentoo works quite well on the PPCs 
(I have it running on my ibook).

oh yeah.. debian too..

So.. IMO, I'd give Yellow Dog a shot first..
