Hi,

I know this isn't the macosx users group but I know some of you
are mac users too so maybe you can help me out.

I desperately want to put my iMovie projects onto DVDs.

Since my G3 ibook didn't come with a dvd burner I ran out to a compusa
and picked up an external dvd burner. With much anticipation I attempted
futilely to make a DVD with iMovie. After hours of frustration, I found
out that iDVD is apparently the program I need however it was not defaulty
installed on my Mac.

My system shipped with Jaguar. I've used the software update several
times so at this point I am running 10.2.5 with iMovie 3.

I was hoping that iDVD was shipped one of those disks that I got with my
system, however I haven't had any luck. What I have is a set of restore
disks but it doesn't seem to allow me to select individual applications.
I also have a copy of Jaguar that came with the iBook but it seems to
be yet another restore disk.

>From my visit to apple.com, it is my understanding that I may *update*
a pre-existing copy of iDVD for free but if I want a full version, I
must buy iLife. Buying iLife seems pretty dumb since I don't want to
pay $50 when I already have the other components of iLife. grrrr.

I have three, well really four questions

1. Does anyone know if the Jaguar (non-eom) media includes a copy of iDVD?
(If so, may I borrow it for someone?)

2. Does anyone know if the Panther media includes a copy of iDVD?
(If so, this may be an excellent excuse for me to upgrade)

3. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks,

Beth Lynn
