That book looks OK for the basics of installing and configuring. If 
you're used to using RedHats GUI tools to configure services, then you 
might run into some trouble with Debian.. but if you're familiar with 
configuring everything manually and through config files, you'll be 
fine.

I just started using Debian on a server about a month ago and really 
like it. I never liked the dselect program, but apt-get is a great 
tool.
