[wplug] keymapping issue in Emacs

Hi-

I have a ThinkPad running RedHat 7.2

I am using an xterm to connect to two different servers:

1) RedHat 7.2 with emacs-20.7-41
2) RedHat 9.0 with emacs-21.2-33

When I use an xterm to connect to the first
server and run emacs -nw, emacs treats my
Alt key as Escape or Meta, the way I want it to.

When I use an xterm to connect to the second
server and run emacs -nw, emacs treats my
Alt key as something else and doesn't work
properly.

Does anyone have a suggestion how I can make
Alt act as Escape or Meta in emacs on the
second server?
