Yes, I'm running Red Hat 8.0, and it probed 8MB of RAM. It's just that 
yesterday, during a fresh installation on an identical machine, the 
owner was swearing that this S3 chip has 32MB of RAM, and I was 
wondering how I could establish the truth.

I'll try snooping through my Debian installation and let you know if 
anything useful comes up.
