I'm guessing Xconfigurator (You're running Red Hat, right?) did not
tell you how much memory it probed during your initial setup of X ?

Alas, no useful information. I did a X -probeonly 2> x.asc && less x.asc
only to find that there was no mention of video ram in there.
As Don observed, yes, this is a Thinkpad (T23), but the models have
changed about 2 billion times since this one came out, and I couldn't
find my exact model in IBM's website.
