[wplug] linux on a laptop

RedHat 8.0 is very easy on these laptops once you get past the lousy
optical drives.  Is the drive in yours a cd only, cd-rw, dvd, or
dvd/cd-rw?  I know for sure that the dvd and dvd/cd-rw have major
issues.  I had to restart the install about ten times to get it to
install.  I have problems accessing the drive in XP as well so I know
its not a Linux issue.  You'll probably just have to keep trying!
