Hi all,
Did you know SuSE Linux has live CD's similar to Knoppix.
They have versions 7.1 through 8.1 on their ftp site
(ftp://ftp.suse.com).
I gave the 8.1 CD a try and it has the look and feel of the Professional
Version.
Since it's just one CD, they did not include Gnome and many other good
packages.
It does give you a good feel for how the Yast2 configuration/updating
program works.
If you want to give SuSE a try, this is a good way to do it without a
permanant installation.
It saves a few files on your harddrive to keep config info.
I've been home sick for the last couple of days so I downloaded:
Red Hat 9
Debian 3.0 r1
Mandrake 9.1
SuSE Live-CD 8.1
SuSE Live-CD 7.3 ( I wanted to see how it compares to the 7.3 Personal
Edition I use now)
Knoppix
And a Gentoo Live CD with Unreal Tournament.
The Debian is 7 CD's plus an update CD.
Anyone running Debian 3.0 r1 want to give me your comments on this
distro?
Thanks,
Bob
