No.  Some ftp servers won't accept connections from you if you have no 
reverse dns entry.  Also, if you're sending mail from your linux box 
directly to other smtp servers (ie., not using your ISP's smtp server), 
some smtp servers won't accept mail from you (without a reverse dns 
entry).
