I'm not the original person who posed the question, but I can offer a 
little insight on this. We used AMD in this way and while it will reduce 
the window of time when you'll get stuck in the same situation. For 
example, if you wanted to use machine A as a place to store your 
homedirectory while logged into B, you'll still have this happen unless 
you're logged out.

Thanks for pointing out the -f option, Brian. Last time I checked the man 
page -f wasn't supported.
