My guess is that high security enables ipchains/iptables which blocks the telnet port. Have a look at the slides from my Sept talk on the subject (http://www.wplug.org/~jo2y/) or search with google for iptables or http://netfilter.samba.org/ You probably should look into ssh. If your concern is windows clients, then search for teraterm ssh. -james
