One word on flash, lets not do that on our site, there is a subset of
people out there that 1) have not installed flash (or uninstalled it)
since flash is now used to have ads make noise. 2) avoid sites that use
flash.
I do not see what flash adds to the site. Photos, that could be use if
done right to enhance the site.

It seems that you have mixed two separate proposals together.
I agree that the web site could be made a bit less stoic looking.
Perhaps
some mouseovers. Photos. Flash?
I am not sure what is to be gained by raffling off stuff. Will that
drive
new people to our site? Could the money be better spent on buying
ourselves
a new router or server?
