I don't see where the politics of exclusion comes into play here.  If
we asked someone to compose a wplug theme, would we reject their
submission because the tool they used to compes it was an electric
keyboard instead of a Steinway piano?  Should I take down the logo
voting system altogether since it doesn't use an open source 
database?  (shoot, the version of the webserver it's running isn't
open source either)

We want a logo.  Let the folks who want to make us a logo use whatever
tools they feel comfortable with.  If it's GIMP,  cool.  If it's
photoshop Windows 2000ME.  cool.  We don't have to push our political
agenda in everything we do.
