So I emailed pair about this, and they said...

"We are in the process of upgrading from FreeBSD 4.8 to FreeBSD 6.2.  The
server that you will be put on (for new accounts) is already running
FreeBSD 6.2.  Due to this, you will actually already have PHP5 as a
module, so you will have those capabilities."
