I did notice that Slicehost does offer backups for $5/month more so I 
think that this is worth checking out. Tonight I browsed around the 
website to get as much info as possible. It appears as though Slicehost
has a 2 week waiting list for new accounts with a minimum commitment of
3 months. There is no mention of any trial or satisfaction guarantee on 
their website. I'll phone their customer service number during business 
hours tomorrow.

Regarding the UML vs Xen discussion...

I don't think that we will be administering the vitalization as that 
should be the vps provider's job, we will just be using it. Some 
vps don't even tell you how they handle the vitalization so both 
providers get an equal rank for being forthcoming. Let's not 
lose sight of our primary needs: Performance and reliability. I do not 
have experience with either so I do not have a preference.
