WPLUG will have a General User Meeting and presentation on Saturday, January 17th, starting at 11am at the Wilkins School Community Center.
(This meeting was originally scheduled for January 10th but was postponed due to inclement weather.)

11:00am - Business Meeting starts
11:30am - Featured Presentation
12:30pm - Meeting ends, everyone out. We are likely to go to D's 6pack for lunch.
Speaker/Presentation
David Ostroske and Beth Lynn Eicher will be discussing their favorite Free and Open Source Software for use in a Windows environment. Of particular focus will be programs which can be used to interact with other operating systems (e.g., NFS, WinSCP).
Meeting Minutes
The regular monthly meeting of the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group was held on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 11:20 AM, at the Wilkins School Community Center, the regular presiding officer being in the chair and the Secretary being present. The minutes of the December 13, 2008 meeting were approved as read.
The Chair reported that the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh branch in Brookline was selected as the venue for February's installfest.
The Secretary reported that WPLUG currently has 24 members.
The Internet Committee reported that WPLUG is hosting a local mailing list for the OpenStreetMap project. All those interested were encouraged to visit http://www.wplug.org/mailman/listinfo/pitt-osm to sign up for the list and arrange a get-together in the next few weeks.
The Program Committee's report dated January 5, 2009 setting the meeting schedule through August was read. Other potential events were discussed.
The meeting adjourned at 12:40 PM.
