WPLUG will have a General User Meeting and presentation on Saturday, January 12th, 2008 starting at 10am at 3002 Newell-Simon Hall on the Carnegie Mellon University campus.

Schedule for the Day[edit]

9:30am - Setup
10:00am - Doors Open
10:30am - Business Meeting Starts
10:45am - Business Meeting Ends
11:00am - Featured Presentation
12:30pm - Break for Lunch
2:00pm - Finish clean up, everyone out

Speaker/Presentation[edit]

Ted Rodgers will speak about Gentoo Linux. Gentoo is an approach to building a Linux system which automates fetching and compilng all* parts of the system from source code. Its design makes it extremely flexible and customizable. Ted will talk about his experience using Gentoo at work and at home.

*Or at least as much as is possible or desired (precompiled binaries are also easily available).

Business Meeting[edit]

In lieu of a formal business meeting we will have an informal discussion. Topics will include upcoming wplug events, wplug internet migration progress, and anything the members want to discuss with the new 2008 board.
