| − | The regular meeting of the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group was held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 2:14 PM, at the Wilkins School Community Center. In the absence of the Chair, the Vice-Chair served as presiding officer. The regular Secretary was present. The minutes of the April 9, 2011 meeting were approved as read.

| − | The Vice-Chair reported that Don Vosburg of Novell/SUSE would be speaking at the November meeting, and he is looking at ways to promote the event. He is working on a PXEboot server to use for more rapid installs at installfests. He also reported that he is looking into using the Pitt student union for an event on Software Freedom Day in September.

| − | A member reported that several members have been working with Computereach, a local organization which donates refurbished Macintosh computers to schools, homeless shelters, and other groups. Dave Sevick, the leader of this organization, has won a Jefferson Award for volunteer service. She also reported that she had mentioned Blender as an example of Free Software for media creation to Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
