Doors will open at 1:30pm.  At 2:00pm sharp the Board will report on the current issues before the group. Afterwards we will have an open "round table" discussion.  If you have any questions, ideas feel free to bring them up to the group.

== Minutes ==
 
 
The regular meeting of the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group was held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 2:14 PM, at the Wilkins School Community Center.  In the absence of the Chair, the Vice-Chair served as presiding officer.  The regular Secretary was present.  The minutes of the April 9, 2011 meeting were approved as read.
 
 
The Vice-Chair reported that Don Vosburg of Novell/SUSE would be speaking at the November meeting, and he is looking at ways to promote the event.  He is working on a PXEboot server to use for more rapid installs at installfests.  He also reported that he is looking into using the Pitt student union for an event on Software Freedom Day in September.
 
 
The Secretary reported that WPLUG currently has 26 members.
 
 
The Treasurer reported that there is $695.42 in the checking account and $35.12 in cash in the refreshment fund.
 
 
The Internet Committee reported that it is seeking someone to serve as its chairman.
 
 
The Program Committee reported that the WPLUG picnic will be held on August 21.
 
 
The Wilkins School Networking Committee reported that that it is seeking someone to serve as its chairman.
 
 
A member reported that several members have been working with Computereach, a local organization which donates refurbished Macintosh computers to schools, homeless shelters, and other groups.  Dave Sevick, the leader of this organization, has won a Jefferson Award for volunteer service.  She also reported that she had mentioned Blender as an example of Free Software for media creation to Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
 
 
The Chair arrived and reported that she will not be running for the Board of Directors in this year's election.  She is willing to mentor anyone interested in stepping forward to take leadership responsibility and can be contacted at chair@wplug.org.
 
 
The meeting adjourned at 2:54 PM.
