In 2003, the Pittsburgh-based web development team for the [http://www.rand.org/ RAND Corporation] embarked on a 27-month project to modernize their [http://www.rand.org/pubs/ online bookstore]. To manage the 20,000+ pages of content involved, they selected the Perl-based open-source [http://bricolage.cc/ Bricolage] system. Join former RAND Web Technology Manager Neal Sofge for an in-depth exploration of how Bricolage works, its strengths and weaknesses, and its performance in real-life enterprise-class usage.

The regular monthly meeting of the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group was held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:02 AM in 3002 Newell-Simon Hall, Carnegie Mellon University, the regular presiding officer being in the chair and the Secretary being present.

[I don't have any notes as to whether the November minutes were read and approved.  If they were available, I presume they were.]

The Secretary reported that there were 37 people currently on the membership rolls.

No other significant officer or committee reports.

The meeting adjourned at 11:12 AM.
