network's firewall and proxy server, I didn't give the PC's firewall a thought,
particularly since I thought I had a boa server running on it. A couple of
clicks and all is now well. Next step is getting MediaWiki set up.

<DIV>Sounds like a firewall issue to me. I would run system-config-securitylevel
and see if your firewall is enabled. If it is you will need to customize it and
open up http (port 80).</DIV>
