You can't use NTFS? What distro are you using? There should be ntfs-3g fuse drivers available. Can OSX use NTFS? The drives usually say Windows and OSX. I thought the only FS they had in common was FAT32.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">

I just got a 500GB Seagate FreeAgent, which is not usable out of the box. It (and every other one I could find) comes formatted NTFS; I used GParted to make it work with my system.<br><br>If somebody finds one formatted FAT, that'd be great, or like someone else said buy a hdd and an enclosure.<br>
