I switched to Comcast 2 years ago for more or less the same reasons. They
are expensive (I pay $82/month high speed Internet only), but the service
is perfect, no hiccups at all and its fast all the time. Customer support
is hit and miss, but you shouldn't need that, it works perfectly. I
provided my own router and modem, so no need for their equipment.
