That's what I had to do with my W530. I keep it on the Intel graphics
most of the time since the nVidia GPU chew up battery life much faster. 

FYI, Pat - there's a project called "Bumblebee" aimed at providing
switching graphics functionality on Linux, but I've never been able to
get it to work properly. http://bumblebee-project.org/ 

It's been a while since I tried messing around with it, though. If I
remember correctly, the main drawback at the time was that the system
won't automatically switch between GPUs on its own; you need to specify
the preferences for particular applications, and I simply didn't want to
do that.
