Dear WPLUG list,

The idea is to inspire and motivate young students about the entire Linux movement.

Computer Reach is working toward a long term contract to teach high schools about Linux (not final yet). It will be framed in the context of a "game changing worldwide computer platform, designed for everyone, based on open standards and free software". We have a proposed course of study that includes experts in their specific field to come in as guest instructors.

Guest instructors would get from Computer Reach:

- a free meal during class-planning with our team prior to the class, helps to know your audience
- allowance to share your business card and mention your business with students

So far the topics we would like to cover are:

History of Linux
History of Free Software
History of LibreOffice
History of WikiPedia
History of Google Drive

.... many more topics will arise as we grow our curriculum.

Class length is under negotiation at this time. We are hoping for 2 hour hands-on labs.

The time schedule, exact class location, etc are still in the works ... we can tell you it will be within the city limits of Metro Pittsburgh.

Please reply to me privately if you have an interest @ dsevick at ComputerReach.Org <mailto:dsevick at ComputerReach.Org>
