Unfortunately, there aren’t any open alternatives to Dropbox worth mentioning. OwnCloud 
is the only one with any traction, and its latest version is an absolute mess.

OwnCloud's extensions are nice, though. I was able to set up a Mozllla Sync server with 
one click. I also run a CardDAV & CalDAV server for my Android devices.
