[wplug] "Video issue" with Linux Mint

If using the Ubuntu based Mint you should be able to boot to the install disk and hit Escape when you see the splash screen to get to the basic boot process. Then hit F6 to get the kernel rags and select nomodeset. That should get you through the graphical install and then you will have to add the same argument at boot until you get the driver sorted out. 
This suggestion is packed with assumptions of what is the actual problem. 


More importantly, what kind of rifle and what's the problem?  - just curious
