By default the box they put on the outside (or inside) of your house
converts the fiber to coax (MoCA, to be exact)  IF you are there when
the tech installs it, and you aren't getting TV, you might be able to
convince him to enable Cat5 instead of the MoCA interface instead.  Then
you can use your own router or isntall ddwrt on the Actiontec router.


The actiontec router is very nice hardware wise, but the built in
firmware can be a little buggy sometimes.
