[wplug] Firefox opens with work offline every time

As  some of you know I am still a novice in Linux using Kubuntu 10.04.  Lately, everytime I open firefox 3.6.9 I notice the box that says work offline is always checked. This happens constantly as I open Firefox.  Then when I am playing a game i.e. Pogo.com, after a while it freezes.
I need some expert advice.
