On Friday, October 1st, 2010, the Blender foundation released Sintel, an
animated short film created using the Blender project, the same open-source
software used to create Elephant's Dream (2005), Big Buck Bunny (2007) and
Yo Frankie! (2008).. The film is very high quality and released under the
Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license. It's very impressive work for
having no big studio involvement. It cost $550,000 and took more than a year
for the 14 person team to finish it. Downloads are available in DivX HD,
H.264 as well as OVG at http://www.sintel.org/news/sintel-online-premiereand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRsGyueVLvQ is a youtube link for it.
