The 8300 is a PowerPC (604 I believe) while the Quadra 605 runs a
MC68040 (or MC68LC040) processor -- you might remember when Apple made
the big switch from Motorola 68000 CPUs to PowerPC.

It's a different chip and I don't think Yellow Dog has m68k images.
You might be able to use Debian's m68k port:
