Thanks, it looks like iotop is pretty close to what I wanted. For the
record for other folks it does require CONFIG_TASK_XACCT and
CONFIG_TASK_IO_ACCOUNTING to be enabled in the kernel, along with
CONFIG_TASKSTATS. Fortunately, they're all enabled in the default Ubuntu
8.10 (Intrepid) kernel and iotop is in universe, so it all just works.
