[wplug] Managing updates

I like getting rid of the old versions so there is no chance for a new
version to grab a header/library/etc from an old version.  Also disk
space is an issue.

If your $PATH has /usr/local/ first, why bother getting rid of the old
one?  And if you're not getting updates anymore, that version of that
distro is probably not supported anymore, leaving you with security
holes.
