how about ATMEG series boards? ETHERNUT boards are available and they allow
linux kernel to be installed in them. They have an onboard Ethernet card
with flash storage. i am not sure about analog modem. you can search for
ATmeg starter kits. Not sure if this is what you are looking. Just some
suggestions.
