I will give that (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=588955)a try. 
My Xbox controller is one made to work on PCs with windows. MS provides 
drivers on their site for this purpose. I am not sure if this one is 
different from one that comes with the xbox or the one you are talking 
about coming with Guitar hero.
