There might be a email header in the autorepliers that you could have
Mailman filter out.  Since Mailman strips out a lot of the original
email's headers, I can't be sure what would be appropriate.  I know
that there's nothing useful in the headers for Exchange autoreplies
other than "Subject: Out of Office AutoReply: <original subject>".

Technically, the stupidity is with the autoresponder.  A well-written
email client should honor the 'Precedence: list' header Mailman puts
in every message it sends, and not auto-respond.  But I guess Novell
Groupwise isn't that well-written.
