Oh yeah, bend over and take the ICH9, like it or not. ;)
I.e., there is a _reason_ why many G33/G35 chipsets are still
shipping older ICH8 chips. ;)
The GPU issues aside, be ready to deal with a lot of issues if you're
not running some of the latest kernels, if they handle everything.
Definitely take the ATA out of AHCI mode, and put it in legacy ATA.

That's the latest nForce 630a, MCP61"a" rev. I haven't personally
verified all the peripherals on it. If it follow's nVidia's history,
it all works, but that's assumption, not first-hand testing talking.
The only thing I ever run into is some MAC+PHY NIC combination that
lacks a PCI DevID in the kernel, and requires a patch (if you're not
running the latest kernel) for the GPL forcedeth. Alternatively,
nVidia tracks such MAC+PHY combinations and offers the separate nvnet
for older kernels that lack the update.
For the ultimate performance and compatibility, loading the nVidia
"nvidia" driver is always ideal. For Fedora, it's been a long time
since Livna.ORG has screwed up their RPMs (especially for kernel
upgrades).
