If by awesome you mean awesomely crappy quality and so laggy that 78
year old grandmothers with 20/300 vision in Houghton, Michigan are
scoring headshots on you left and right.

When watching a program through a DVR, such as MythTV or TiVo, there is
always a lag for the internal buffer the program takes.  Of course, you
could split the video signal and still record your games.

Secondly, video quality is going to be poor because you'll be capturing
over composite.  There aren't any consumer cards that can capture the
high def source in real time.

So yeah, it might work for Uno, but even games like Catan and Carcassone
would be painful.
