I have an ATI with dual-head support.  There is a DVI and a VGA
output.  Under multiple installations of multiple versions of Fedora,
without any effort, it has always worked for me without any problems.
(Knock on wood.)

Under Ubuntu, I have never been able to get it to work, and I spent
quite a bit of time on it.

My point is, if it doesn't work for you, don't give up.
